The short version
There is no account. We do not ask for an email address, a name, or any way to identify you, so there is nothing for us to attach a conversation to.
Your chat history is kept in your own browser. It is not sent to us, and we have no copy of it.
A message does leave your device while it is being answered — that is unavoidable for any AI chat. It goes to the model that produces the reply.
What is stored in your browser
Your conversations, and the settings you have changed, are written to your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). This is on your device. It is not uploaded, it is not synced, and it is not readable by us.
It stays until you clear it. You can erase everything from inside the app with the “Erase all” control in the sidebar, or by clearing site data in your browser. Either is immediate and permanent.
What is sent to the model
When you press send, the text of your message — and any image you attached — is transmitted to our server and passed to the language model that generates the reply. This is the mechanism of the product; without it there is no answer.
Generation is handled by Groq (groq.com), which runs the model on their hardware and returns the reply to us. Your message is sent to them for that purpose and is not used to train anything, and it is not sold or shared with advertisers.
Documents you attach
If you attach a text document, it is read inside your browser and then sent to the model so the answer can be based on it. We never store it: there is no upload endpoint for it, nothing about it is written to our server, and clearing your browser's site data removes your copy along with everything else.
The file does travel, though, and it is worth being plain about that rather than leaving the impression that attaching a document keeps it off the network. The text is sent to our server and on to Groq, in the same way the text of your message is, because a model cannot read a file it was not given. What attaching a document avoids is our *storage*, not our involvement.
How much travels is bounded in the code rather than chosen per request: at most 4 documents, each at most 64 KB, are ever accepted. A file over that is refused with a message rather than silently trimmed.
A copy of each attached file is kept in your browser's own storage, on the message it was sent with, so that you can download it again later. It is deleted along with the conversation. We do not describe this as more private than sending the file on: it is the same file reaching the same model, just also kept locally where you can get it back.
Advertising
This site displays advertising. Our ad partners may set cookies or similar technologies to measure how their ads perform.
If you use an ad blocker, the ads will not appear. Nothing about the chat changes: it is a separate concern and blocking ads does not limit what you can ask.
Analytics and tracking
We do not run analytics scripts, and we do not build a profile of visitors. There is no cross-site tracking on this site by us.
Children
This service is for adults aged 21 and over, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below that age. The Terms of Service set out why, and the short version is that we cannot control or age-verify the advertising served here.
Since we collect no personal information from anyone — of any age — there is no collection for a minor's data to be part of.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the EU, the UK, Switzerland, or anywhere else with GDPR-style rules — in France that regulation is called the RGPD, and it is the same law — you have rights over your personal data: to see it, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, take it elsewhere, object to how it is used, and complain to a data protection authority.
In practice there is very little here to ask us for, and it is worth being straight about why. Your conversations are in your browser and we hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to hand over, correct or transfer on request. Clearing your browser's site data removes your copy outright, and nobody has to act on your behalf for that to happen.
The data that does exist sits with other people. Your message text reaches Groq when you press send, and the advertising network holds whatever it records about your visit — typically an IP address and a cookie identifier. Neither is ours to answer for. If you want an ad network's record of you removed, that is a request to them, and their privacy policy is where you will find how to make it.
We do hold ordinary server logs containing an IP address and a timestamp. They exist to run the service and to limit abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not sold or shared.
Where we rely on legitimate interest rather than your consent, it is to operate and protect the service. Where we rely on consent, it is for advertising cookies, and you can withdraw that at any time by blocking or clearing cookies.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means the revised policy applies.
